SHELBY AMERICAN 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR RETURNS HOME TO
BARRETT-JACKSON LAS VEGAS AUCTION FOR FINAL STOP

Shelby fans and automotive enthusiasts to gather in Las Vegas for 50th Anniversary Tour grand finale

LAS VEGAS – Sept. 20, 2012 – Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., (CSBI.PK), will roll its 50th Anniversary Tour back home for the 5th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event, scheduled Sept. 19-22, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Four Season Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. This monumental event will be the final stop for the Shelby tour that has weaved its way across the country in celebration of five decades of the Shelby Cobra. Enthusiasts and Shelby fans will see the limited edition 50th Anniversary models, as well as get a special first look at the latest cars to come out of Shelby American, including the 2013 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 Super Snake.

“The 50th anniversary marks one of the most significant milestones in Shelby American’s history,” said John Luft, president of Shelby American. “We’re excited to celebrate our tour grand finale at our home base and showcase the iconic anniversary line up. It’s also the perfect setting to give auction visitors a first-hand look at some of our most talked about new cars like the 2013 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 Super Snake. This will be one of the most important stops of our nationwide tour and the last chance to be part of Shelby history.”

Debuting for the first time publicly in Las Vegas, the 2013 Shelby GT350 and GT500 Super Snake build on the power and performance platform of the previous model year Shelby’s and sport distinctive new styling. The GT350 is available as a coupe or convertible, with the option of a 430 HP normally aspirated engine, or either a Ford Racing supercharged 525 HP or 624 HP version in the entire color palette offered by Ford on the Mustang.

The 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake packs even more of a punch, powered by Ford’s new 5.8L supercharged V8, which is the most powerful American production V8 on the market. With a vast array of options, newly designed wheels and upgraded front and rear fascia’s, the new snake is available in a 662 HP or a tire-melting 850 HP configuration.

"When Shelby American introduced the Cobra in 1962, he changed the world of high performance," added Luft. “And though we cherish our rich heritage, we’re focused on building cars with spectacular performance today. The last 50 years have been special, but the years ahead will be even more incredible.”

Event festivities will crank up on Wednesday evening with the 5th Annual Barrett-Jackson Road Rally down the legendary Las Vegas Strip, where eager bystanders will feast their eyes on Shelby’s, Ford’s and countless other collector cars as they rumble by. The main attraction Collector Car Auction will begin each morning at 11 a.m. Sept. 20-22. Other activities through Saturday evening include attendee Ride N’ Drives, Automobilia Auctions and Meguiar’s Car Care Seminars.

The Shelby GT350 and GT500 Super Snake, as well as all other Shelby vehicles, are available through the Shelby American headquarters in Las Vegas or at www.shelbyamerican.com.
